One would assume that anyone who dare get on one of the world’s biggest stage has confidence oozing out of them…but 13-year-old Brit Courtney Hadwin proves that isn’t always the case.

Courtney stunned at this year’s American’s Got Talent with her audition of Otis Redding’s “Hard to Handle,” which landed her the Golden Buzzer.

But when she first walked into the stage, she was very nervous and appeared incredibly shy in front of the judges. They asked her some questions and even offered kind words to ease the teenager’s nerves. She remained timid, that is until she had to perform.

The teenager seemed very anxious to get it over with but as soon as she opened her mouth, the judges were stunned by the voice that came out of her. What’s more is that her movements were far from the shy girl who showed up with a nervous chuckle.

Her arms were swinging, her legs kicking and she was pacing through the stage. She really owned that performance.

There was a mixture of shock, confusion and then awe in the face of the judges and the audience in the arena. They could not believe what they were seeing–an incredible transformation channeled through beautiful singing and chaotic movement.
