This is one of my all-time favorite American Idol stories! The courage that Shayy shows is truly inspiring!

Countless American Idol hopefuls come to their auditions with inspiring back stories, but Shayy’s was a particularly emotional moment on Wednesday’s (Mar. 6) episode of the singing competition.

Shayy told judges that she has been legally blind for a little over a year, after suffering from hydrocephalus and the discovery of a tumor in her brain. She then dove into a powerful cover of Andra Day’s “Rise Up,” which immediately brought the judges to tears, especially Lionel Richie.

“You have wrecked me,” he told her, red faced from crying. “Lionel you look like you’re walking a daughter down the aisle,” Luke Bryan commented, before telling Shayy, “You have what we cannot teach. We cannot teach letting the music flow straight from the soul, and that’s what you did.”

As expected, the judges made the unanimous decision to send Shayy to the Hollywood round.

If you’re a fan of some intense and amazing talent, as well as a tremendous amount of heart-felt blues – THIS VIDEO will not disappoint.

In this 6 minute cover of the song, “Ain’t No Sunshine,” Matt Anderson wows the audience in the awesome live performance.

Believe it or not, this video is actually over 10 years old, and we only just discovered it today!

Even though I just found it, it doesn’t mean that I haven’t already watched it a 1/2 dozen times already. This is exactly how you’d expect a blues version of this song to be. From deep raspy yells to tones that bring you all the way up and down again, Matt sends you on a roller coaster of a ride with this song.

Just check out some of the comments that were left on this video

“This is now officially the correct way to perform this song.”

“His voice literally brought tears to my eyes”

“Saw this guy a long time ago and he is one of the best musicians I’ve ever heard. I’ve never been in a room where so many people were so intent on listening”

“that mans soul just made a statement”

But here’s the even more amazing this about this performance…

Welcome to the famous street performer MORF. If you have not heard of him, you’re in for a special treat today.

MORF is an unbelievable street performer and has many videos and gems online, but this performance of Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen is perfect to introduce him to you at this time of the year during the holiday season.

You will notice that MORF holds his guitar a bit different than the typical guitar player, but you will see why as soon as he starts to play.

He plays an amazing introduction on his guitar for almost a full 90 seconds before he starts to sing the song. For those of you that play or know someone that plays the guitar, you will be in for a real treat by witnessing how creative and talented MORF is.

But don’t take our word for it…

Check out some of the comments that people left about this performance.

“That dude didn’t play the guitar. He made love to it. It’s like an extension of himself. I play guitar, but I can only dream of doing what he did. Outstanding man. Great work.”

“I’ve never seen anything like this. Just phenomenal.”

“This dude is the sickest street performer ever… unreal what he is doing and not to mention the originality of hallelujah. One of the most covered songs haha and he killed it!”

“Interesting re-interpretation of a beautiful composition. One of my all-time favorite songs. Masterfully performed. He did it justice. Bravo”

If you live in New York City you are probably no stranger to seeing amazing talent pop up literally anywhere.

And on March 6th 2019, NYC commuters who just so happened to walk into the Rockefeller Center subway station were treated to one of the best performances ever at that subway station.

This time the performer was none other than the incredible Irish singer/songwriter superstar Hozier.

Hozier was in the city to perform at a charity concert called Love Rocks NYC! The benefit concert at the Beacon Theatre also featured legendary performers like Nancy Wilson of Heart and Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin.

The concert is held each year to raise money for the God’s Love We Deliver charity, a service that provides nutritious meals to clinically ill people in the New York City area.
